Graduate programs to get Permanent Residency in Australia

Graduate programs are a pathway created by states and/or regional territories for PR pathways that consist of facilitating invitations to the 190 and 491 migration programmes for applicants who have studied and lived in those territories.

We have summarised the main ones currently active in New South Wales, Western Australia, Tasmania and South Australia.

Tasmania
Visa 190
  • You must not be older than 45 at the time of application.

  • You must have studied a course in Tasmania with a minimum duration of 2 years, which can be: a Degree (Any), a Diploma (Any) or a Certificate (Related to one of these sectors: Tourism and Hospitality, Construction, It, Health, Agriculture, Transport and Logistics.

  • You must have an approved Skills Assessment (Not necessarily related to the profession studied)

Visa 491
  • You must not be older than 45 years at the time of application.

  • You must have studied in Tasmania a course of at least 40 weeks (10 months), which can be: a Degree (any), a Diploma (any) or a Certificate (Related to one of these sectors: Tourism and Hospitality, Construction, It, Health, Agriculture, Transport and Logistics.

  • You must have an approved Skills Assessment (Not necessarily related to the profession studied)

South Australia

 International South Australia Pathway

Requirements:

  • Course registered in CRICOS

  • Have studied at least 50% in South Australia

  • Have completed a minimum of 46 weeks of a CRICOS course

  • You must have stayed in Australia after studying

  • Have 190/491 visa requirements.

  • Have experience according to the Skills Assessment list.

Western Australia (WA)

Requirements:

  • Compliance with visa requirements 190/491 (Skills Assessment)

  • Being in Australia

be in Australia

  • English level (Occupation 1 Managers 7 EACH, Professionals 6 EACH)

  • Having completed the studies in WA, it must be full-time, for a minimum of two years and can be a combination of: HE, VET, ELICOS

  • Qualification: Must be HE or VET (Cert III or higher)

  • Six months of experience in nominated or contracted employment.

Regional NSW

Stream 2

Recently completed study in the NSW region

 

  • Skills Assessment by profession in the Occupation List.

  • Have completed the course within the previous 24 months (92 weeks, studied at Regional NSW)

  • Qualification judged as ‘Closely related to the position nominated for the 491 visa.
