SKILLED - 190 Skill Nominated

The Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa is a permanent visa that allows skilled workers to live in Australia, based on a nomination by an Australian state or territory. This visa is available to applicants who are skilled in a specific occupation which must be found on the list of eligible profession. Each state or territory has its own list of occupations, requirements and processes depending on the skill shortages in that area.

With this visa, you can

  • sponsor eligible relatives to come to Australia
  • travel to and from Australia for 5 years
  • apply for Australia Citizenship, if eligible

The Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa is a permanent visa that allows skilled workers to live in Australia, based on a nomination by an Australian state or territory. This visa is available to applicants who are skilled in a specific occupation which must be found on the list of eligible profession. Each state or territory has its own list of occupations, requirements and processes depending on the skill shortages in that area.

In order to apply for a Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa, you must first lodge an Expression of Interest and be invited by an Australian state or territory.
Once the applicant is invited to apply for a skilled visa, the application must lodged your application within 60 days, otherwise the invitation lapses. Accordingly, it is very important that applicants have all required documentation prepared to be lodged as soon as possible after receiving the invitation.

Entitlements

This visa provides the holder with Australian permanent residency. The holder must live and work for the first two  years in their chosen state, unless particular circumstances apply. Although the visa is granted based on the holder being skilled in a specific occupation, once granted, the visa doesn’t require you to seek or maintain employment in this occupation.

With this visa, you can

SKILLED VISA

Requirements

This visa is available to applicants who are skilled in an occupation on the state or territory lists chosen by the applicant. Each has its own list of occupations

  • meet the points test pass mark of 65 points (check your points) (this goes to resources – point test)
  • have a suitable skills assessment for the occupation
  • Lodge an Expression of Interest  Be aged between 18 and 44 inclusive
  • have Competent English or higher
  • be invited to apply by the State or Territory
  • Meet health and character requirements

SKILLED VISA

How long can you stay?

This is a permanent visa – it lets you stay in Australia indefinitely.
Applicants become permanent residents on the day the visa is granted.

Your permanent residency for citizenship purposes starts:

  • on the day the visa is granted if you are in Australia
  • on the day you enter Australia on this visa if you are outside Australia

a.Main Applican: $4,045.00
b. Secondary Applicant over 18: $2,025.00
c. Secondary applicant under 18: $1,010.00
